Moving Day
August 28, 2016
I woke up early Sunday morning, partly from the excitement of moving and partly because the morning Muslim prayers are blasted at 4am. I threw my last minute laundry in the wash and began gathering my things and attempting to shove them back into my exploded suitcases.
It took us the entire week to get even remotely settled. Trying to balance school prep, learning how to cook, and shopping for the essentials takes a lot of time. But we are in our house and we are working hard to make it look like a home. It’s has 3 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. Our kitchen has one sink and we had to buy little gas stoves, and an oven that sits on top of our gas stove. It’s a big learning curve but by the end of this year we, hopefully, will be great cooks *fingers crossed*.
We also have an Indonesian girl living with us during the week. She works for Adventist Aviation, but goes home to Jayapura on the weekends. I’m excited to learn more Indonesian from her and hopefully she can teach us how to cook some great dishes!
More good news! The government guy came last Thursday (9/1) and HIS is still running. I’m still not sure why the government needed to come in, but praise God the school is still open.

Sounds like you are having quite a lot of excitement setting up house! Glad the school survived the inspection. Love you and miss you!
